After the worst weather we have endured for quite a while the plants have suffered due mainly to the lack of light.  I do not think the cold causes any harm but the low light levels do not encourage plant growth. My greenhouse roof was covered in snow for about 2 weeks allowing very little light penetration.  The last couple of days has been a little brighter and already I can see a change in colour of the foliage. Lets hope for some brighter days ahead!

Our 2010 list for Border and Perpetual Flowering Carnations is now available.  The Perpetual Carnation section now features some new and exciting varieties together with some of my old favourites as well as a new section on Spray Carnations with new varieties as well as two with the coveted AGM award from the RHS.   I hope to add a shopping basket and accept card payments in the near future to enable orders to be placed over this webpage-watch this space!!!

My Border Carnation list features several additional varieties.

Please note the following varieties of border carnations are sold out:

Over the past two years I have been trialling a peat free compost and have had had excellent results.  It is a soil based medium containing grit and green compost to which I have added my own nutriments.  With both carnations and crysanthemums is has proved its worth growing plants to show quality standards.  I now have this compost available for sale on a collection only basis at £4.50 per 25 kg bag.
