Border Carnations are the doyen of all the carnation family providing exquisite flowers in many colour and colour variations and are often beautifully scented. They are extremely hardy providing they are grown in a well drained medium. As with all dianthus they require a neutral to alkaline soil in a light airy position. As the plants begin to spindle up to flower they will require some support.
